This is a high-performance Secondary (Safety) Air Filter element designed for the heavy-duty engine air intake systems of Volvo construction and mining equipment.

This filter serves as the "inner" safety element in a two-stage air filtration system. Its primary role is to provide a critical backup layer of protection for the engine. While the primary (outer) filter traps the vast majority of dust and contaminants, the secondary filter ensures that no debris enters the engine if the primary filter is accidentally damaged, improperly installed, or during the service window when the primary filter is removed.

Do not remove this filter unless you are replacing it, as doing so risks allowing dust and dirt to enter the engine’s intake system directly, which can cause catastrophic internal engine damage.
