  • Bushings and Pins: Monitor external bushing wear. Turning pins and bushings at the midpoint of their wear life can double their lifespan, provided the internal components are sound.

  • Rollers and Idlers: Check for flat spots, oil leaks, and shell wear on bottom and top rollers. A seized roller will quickly grind a flat spot into the rail link.

  • Sprocket Teeth: Inspect sprocket teeth for "hooking." Worn sprockets will rapidly chew up a brand-new track chain, so always replace sprockets when installing new chains.
